These good times, however, in combination with age and exposure to the sun, can lead to expressiveness, something that plastic surgeons look for when a patient inquires about Blepharoplasty, or an eyelid lift.
In a little over an hour, an eyelid lift can improve a person’s vision, make them look less tired, and, if living in the Ohio River Valley, reduce facial swelling due to allergies.
The procedure consists of the surgeon making incisions following the natural lines of their eyelids including the creases of their upper lids and just below the lashes in the lower lids. Once these incisions are made, the surgeon separates the skin from the underlying fatty tissue and muscle, removes any excess fat and might trim any sagging skin. The incisions are then closed.
Once surgery is complete, there is a healing process. A patient should be able to read and watch television after two or three days, go back to work in ten days and wear contact lenses in two weeks.
